Creamy Fettuccine with
Italian Sausage and Leeks
Makes 4 Servings
*2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
*1 pound Italian sausage
*2 leeks, cleaned and sliced
*1/2 cup white wine
*1 cup half & half
*Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
*16-ounce package Barilla Fettuccine
*1/3 cup Parmigiano cheese, grated
*2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
1Heat oil over medium heat in a large skillet. Add peeled and crumbled sausage and cook until browned.
2Add leeks, cook for three minutes and deglaze with white wine; reduce liquid.
3Add half & half, salt and black pepper; simmer 5 minutes.
4Cook pasta according to directions. Drain and toss with the sauce.
5Garnish with cheese and chopped parsley before serving.
