* | 2 1/2 lbs. Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and halved |
* | 1 tsp. garlic salt |
* | 2-3 large whole garlic cloves, peeled and separated |
* | 1/2 cup milk (or half & half) |
* | 2 tbls. unsalted butter |
* | salt and pepper, to taste |
1 | Place potatoes in large saucepan and cover with water. Season with garlic salt. Add whole garlic cloves. Bring to boil, cover, reduce heat and boil gently 30-35 minutes, until potatoes and garlic are tender. Drain well. |
2 | Add milk and mash or beat until potatoes and garlic are light and creamy. Add butter and combine until melted. |
3 | Season with salt and pepper. Serve immediately. |
