Strawberry Cream Cheese Bites
Makes 6-8 Servings
*8-ounce package cream cheese, softened
*1/4 cup Splenda
*1 large egg
*1/4 pound (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
*1 package phyllo dough
*1 jar Stonewall Kitchen Strawberry Spread
1Preheat oven to 350F degrees.
2Using a hand blender or food processor, process the cream cheese, Splenda and egg until smooth.
3Using a pastry brush, butter an 8"x8" baking pan.
4Place one sheet of phyllo dough in the bottom of the pan and butter it using the pastry brush. Repeat this process until there are 5 layers of dough.
5Using an offset spatula or spoon, spread 1/2 of the cream cheese mixture evenly across the top layer of dough. Spread 1/2 of the jar of Stonewall Kitchen Strawberry Spread on top of the cream cheese.
6Add another 5 layers of phyllo dough in the same manner as before, spread the remaining cream cheese mixture across the top and then the remaining Stonewall Kitchen Strawberry Spread. Add another 5 layers of dough.
7Cut finished pastry into triangles and place in oven on a middle rack. Cook for 35-45 minutes or until golden brown and flaky. Serve warm or cool.
  • When removing the phyllo dough from its package, it is important to make sure that it stays pliable. Cover unused portions of dough with a slightly damp towel to prevent the dough from becoming brittle.
  • Serving suggestion: Serve with No Sugar Added Raspberry Swirl Ice Cream or No Sugar Added Blueberry Applesauce from Stonewall Kitchen.
