* | 1 bottle (750 ml) red wine, such as Beaujolais or Zinfandel |
* | 2 cinnamon sticks |
* | 1 orange, sliced and seeded |
* | 4 whole cloves |
* | Freshly grated nutmeg for garnish (optional) |
1 | Combine wine, cinnamon, orange and cloves in a large saucepan. Bring to a simmer, but do not boil. Heat for 12-15 minutes. |
2 | Serve in a heat-resistant punch bowl with heat-resistant glasses or mugs. Top individual servings with freshly grated nutmeg, if desired. |
