Mulled Red Wine
Makes 4-6 Servings
*1 bottle (750 ml) red wine, such as Beaujolais or Zinfandel
*2 cinnamon sticks
*1 orange, sliced and seeded
*4 whole cloves
*Freshly grated nutmeg for garnish (optional)
1Combine wine, cinnamon, orange and cloves in a large saucepan. Bring to a simmer, but do not boil. Heat for 12-15 minutes.
2Serve in a heat-resistant punch bowl with heat-resistant glasses or mugs. Top individual servings with freshly grated nutmeg, if desired.
