Fall Breakfast Pie
Makes 4 Servings
*4 links (1/2 pound) Shady Brook Farms or Honeysuckle White Sweet Italian Turkey Sausage
*1 8-inch frozen pie crust
*3 eggs
*1/2 cup milk
*2 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and sliced
*1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
*Maple syrup (optional)
1Preheat oven to 425F degrees.
2Slice sausage lengthwise and peel off casing. In a nonstick skillet, cook and crumble sausage over medium heat.
3Mix eggs and milk in a bowl.
4Layer sliced apples, sausage and milk mixture in the pie crust. Sprinkle cheese on top.
5Bake at 425F degrees for 10 minutes; lower oven to 350F degrees and bake for another 30 minutes until pie is set and cheese is crisp. Slice and drizzle with syrup, if desired.
