* | 4 links (1/2 pound) Shady Brook Farms or Honeysuckle White Sweet Italian Turkey Sausage |
* | 1 8-inch frozen pie crust |
* | 3 eggs |
* | 1/2 cup milk |
* | 2 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and sliced |
* | 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded |
* | Maple syrup (optional) |
1 | Preheat oven to 425F degrees. |
2 | Slice sausage lengthwise and peel off casing. In a nonstick skillet, cook and crumble sausage over medium heat. |
3 | Mix eggs and milk in a bowl. |
4 | Layer sliced apples, sausage and milk mixture in the pie crust. Sprinkle cheese on top. |
5 | Bake at 425F degrees for 10 minutes; lower oven to 350F degrees and bake for another 30 minutes until pie is set and cheese is crisp. Slice and drizzle with syrup, if desired. |
