
Parmesan Cheese Twists
Makes 3 to 4 DozenIngredients
* | 2 sheets frozen puff pastry, thawed |
* | 1 large egg |
* | 1 tablespoon water |
* | 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese |
* | 1/4 cup grated sharp Cheddar cheese |
* | 1 teaspoon dried rosemary |
Instructions
1 | Preheat oven to 400F degrees. Spray a non-stick baking sheet with cooking spray. |
2 | Lightly flour a work surface and roll out pastry sheets, 1 at a time, to a 12" x 18" rectangle. |
3 | In a bowl, lightly beat the egg and water together to make an egg wash. Lay 1 pastry sheet on a work surface and brush lightly with the egg wash. Working quickly, sprinkle cheeses and rosemary on top. Cover with remaining sheet of pastry, pressing firmly to remove any air pockets. |
4 | With a pastry wheel or sharp knife, cut pastry crosswise into strips about 1/2-inch by about 6 inches. Twist 2-3 times to make a spiral and place on baking sheet. Bake until crisp and golden brown, about 12-14 minutes. Cool on a wire rack. |
Notes
MAKES A GREAT GIFT: Freeze the cheese twists until ready to present as a gift. Then pack in an airtight container and tie a bow or raffia around it. Place in a gift bag with your favorite bottle of red or white wine.
