
Baked Chevre with Garlic Toasts
Makes 4 ServingsIngredients
* | 8-oz. log chevre or goat cheese, such as Bucheron or Coach Farm |
* | 1 tbls. + 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil |
* | 1 tbls. fresh herbs, such as basil, thyme or tarragon, chopped |
* | Freshly ground black pepper |
* | 1 French baguette, sliced |
* | 2 cloves garlic, minced |
Instructions
1 | Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line a baking sheet with foil. |
2 | Slice cheese into 4 portions, removing rind from ends, but leaving rind around cheese intact. Sprinkle with a bit of extra virgin olive oil and fresh herbs. Season with black pepper. Bake 10-12 minutes until softened and spreadable. |
3 | Separately, mix 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil with minced garlic. Brush garlic oil onto bread slices. Place on a non-stick baking sheet and toast garlic bread in oven until lightly browned, about 5 minutes. |
4 | Place each baked chevre on a serving plate accompanied by several garlic toasts. |
Notes
- Can be served with assorted greens for an elegant salad course.
