Pesto Pinwheels
Makes 8 servings
*1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
*Flour for dusting
*1/3 cup pesto
*1/2 cup Asiago cheese, freshly grated
*1 egg, beaten with 1 tsp. water
1Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
2Roll out pastry sheet on a floured surface to make a 14" x 11" rectangle. Spread pesto evenly over entire surface and sprinkle evenly with cheese.
3Roll up the pastry from the long side. Cut the roll into ½ inch slices and lay flat on a greased cookie sheet. Brush tops of the rolls with the egg wash and bake 8-10 minutes until golden brown.
