* | 3 cups whipping cream |
* | 3 cups half & half |
* | 12 egg yolks |
* | 1 cup sugar |
* | 1/2 tbls. ground nutmeg |
* | 1/2 cup bourbon |
* | 1/2 cup dark rum |
* | Ground cinnamon for topping |
1 | Combine cream and half & half in a large pot. Bring to a simmer; do not allow to boil. |
2 | Separately, whisk egg yolks and sugar together in a large bowl. Gradually whisk in half the hot cream mixture. Return to pot. Stir over medium-low heat until mixture thickens, about 5 minutes. Do not boil. Strain into a serving or punch bowl. Stir in nutmeg. Allow to cool and then chill completely. |
3 | When ready to serve, mix in bourbon and rum to taste. Ladle into mugs or cups and top with cinnamon. |
