Makes 8 servings
*2 lbs. ground beef
*1 large onion, chopped
*1 green pepper, seeded and chopped
*1 28 oz. can crushed tomatoes
*2 tbls. chili powder
*1 19 oz. can red kidney beans, undrained
1In large skillet, combine ground beef, onion and pepper and brown, breaking up ground beef. Drain. Transfer to dutch oven.
2Add tomatoes and chili powder. Cover and simmer over low-medium heat about 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
3Add kidney beans (undrained) and continue to simmer another 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
4NOTE: Add additional chili powder to taste.
