Buttery Mashed Potatoes
Makes 6 servings
*2 1/2 lbs. baking potatoes, peeled and quartered
*1/2 tsp. garlic salt
*1/2 cup warmed milk
*5 tbls. butter, cut into pieces
*Salt and freshly ground black pepper
1Place potatoes in a large saucepan and add water to cover by 1 inch. Add garlic salt to water. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and cook 15-20 minutes or until tender. Drain and return hot potatoes to the pan. Mash until smooth or use a ricer. Gradually add milk and butter, combining until potatoes are fluffy. Season with salt and pepper.
