Baked Three Cheese Tortellini
with Tomato Cream Sauce
Makes 7-9 Servings
*13-ounce bag Barilla Three Cheese Tortellini
*1 jar Barilla Marina Sauce
*1/2 cup heavy cream, at room temperature
*1 cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided
*1/2 teaspoon salt
*1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
*3 tablespoons butter, divided
1Preheat oven to 350F degrees.
2Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over high heat. Add the Tortellini and cook until tender but still firm to the bite, stirring occasionally, about 5 minutes. Drain pasta.
3Bring the Marinara Sauce to a simmer over low heat in a medium sauce pan, stirring often.
4Stir in the cream and continue to simmer over low heat until the sauce is heated through. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in 1/2 cup of the Parmesan cheese, salt and pepper. (Season with additional salt and pepper to taste.)
5Toss the Tortellini with the sauce.
6Butter a baking dish with 1 tablespoon of the butter, pour the pasta and sauce into the baking dish. Sprinkle with the remaining Parmesan cheese and dot with the remaining 2 tablespoons butter.
7Bake until the top starts to brown, about 25 minutes.
