
Grilled Pork Tenderloin with Watermelon, Preserved Lemon and Red Onion Salad
Makes 4 ServingsIngredients
* | 4 pork tenderloins |
* | 1/2 tsp. 5-spice powder (available at Asian markets and some supermarkets) |
* | 6 star anise |
* | 1/4 cup soy sauce |
* | 1/4 cup medium dry sherry |
* | 1 tsp. chopped ginger |
* | 1/2 tsp. chopped garlic |
* | 1/2 tsp. coriander seed |
* | 4 tbls. sesame oil |
* | 1/4 tsp. cracked black pepper |
* | 1/2 cup orange juice |
* | 1/4 cup olive oil |
* | cooking oil |
* | salt and pepper |
* | Watermelon, Preserved Lemon and Red Onion Salad |
Instructions
1 | To make the marinade for the pork, mix together in a small bowl the 5-spice powder, star anise, soy sauce, sherry, ginger, garlic, coriander, sesame oil, pepper, orange juice, salt and pepper and olive oil. |
2 | Place the tenderloins in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Let marinate 45 minutes. |
3 | Brush tenderloins with cooking oil and season with salt and pepper. Grill the tenderloins until medium. Allow to rest before slicing. |
